The Chair of the Ottawa Public Library Board provided an update at the October 2016 Board meeting regarding the Central Library Development Project.
Staff will be bringing forward a report in December 2016, which will include the site evaluation rankings of all 12 sites. Through a business case, the staff report will bring forward the results of the further due diligence of all the short-listed sites as part of a decision package that will include recommendations on: the site, the potential partnership with Library and Archives Canada, how the facility will be built, how much it will cost, and how it will be funded.
While the decision package and related documents will be released in December, no decision will be made by the Board until January 2017. Following that, the OPL Board will make recommendations to City Council, for its consideration.
Dates for the release of information, as well as the January Board meeting, will be confirmed in November.
