Ottawa Central Library – November update: Decision timelines

The Ottawa Public Library (OPL) is moving closer to building a flagship Central Library in our city. The remaining decisions will confirm where the Central Library will be located, how much it will cost, how it will be built, and how it will be funded. There will also be a decision on whether the Central Library is built as a stand-alone or in partnership with Library and Archives Canada (LAC).
On December 15, 2016, OPL will release the staff report containing recommendations. All documents will be available on the Ottawa Central Library website.

On January 31, 2017, the OPL Board will consider the staff recommendations, discuss, and make their decisions.

The OPL Board invites your comments on the recommendations via email (centrallibrary@ottawa.ca). Plus, you can attend and speak at the January Board meeting. Visit biblioottawalibrary.ca/aboutOPL for information on registering as a public delegation. In addition, OPL will gather public input through a survey.

Ottawa City Council will discuss and approve final decisions on February 8, 2017.
