Ādisōke August 2025 Update

In the height of summer, the north and southwest faces of Ādisōke are stepping into the spotlight as the scaffolding comes down. The stonework is nearing completion and wood details are on-going, adding to the building’s character. Landscaping features will continue over the next month, bringing the exterior spaces to life.

Inside the building, attention continues on the custom millwork, where every detail is carefully crafted. Wall framing, painting and the mechanical, electrical and plumbing are progressing on all floors.

Reminder: Traffic Impacts

Ādisōke is already starting to deliver on its promise of becoming a model for sustainable buildings in Canada. Connecting to the federal government’s district energy heating and cooling system is part of creating a clean, state-of-the-art cultural facility.

Construction efforts are ongoing to support the connection to the district energy system began on Wednesday, July 2, and includes the following details:

  • Commissioner Street, from Pooley’s Bridge to Wellington Street, will be closed until early winter.
  • The temporary pedestrian crossing on Commissioner Street has been removed.
  • Pooley’s Bridge, for pedestrians and cyclists, will be closed temporarily in both directions, expected until late September.
  • Signage and detours are in place.

Reminder: Respect. Patience. Safety for all.

Construction is a necessary and familiar part of life in Ottawa. As the busy construction season continues, the City has launched a public awareness campaign: Respect. Patience. Safety for All!

This campaign emphasizes the importance of mutual respect and safety in construction zones. We all share the responsibility of keeping our roads, neighbourhoods, and workspaces safe during construction. This means slowing down, following detours, and staying patient.
