Ādisōke December 2025 Update

Ādisōke is an iconic and thoughtfully designed landmark facility, and the first major partnership of its kind between the City of Ottawa, Ottawa Public Library and Library and Archives Canada.

Over the past few years, significant progress has been made on this one-of-a-kind building. While the project was originally anticipated to be open to the public in the summer 2026, delivering a building of this scale and complexity is taking longer than originally scheduled. Quality remains a top priority, and all partners are focused on delivering a space that meets the highest standards and the public’s expectations.

Last week, on Tuesday, December 2, an announcement was made that Ādisōke will not open in 2026. To watch the full meeting of the announcement, visit this Ottawa City Council YouTube video. The Ādisōke presentation starts at 4:41:45.
