Falling for Ādisōke
We are falling right into place with a busy season for construction at Ādisōke.
Outside the building, progress continues to be un-be-leaf-able on the stunning red cedar wood and the stone base that is wrapping the building. The roof remains a key area of focus as construction progresses.
Inside Ādisōke, all five floors are harvesting results, painting, electrical, tile and custom millwork are all on-going – making it a hub of construction activity with hammering, drilling and sawing.
Celebrate Library Month
October was Library Month — a month-long celebration of the vital role libraries plays in the lives of Canadians. Throughout October, libraries across the country highlighted their impact on communities.
Engagement session with the Anishinābe Algonquin Nation
On October 27, an engagement session with the Anishinābe Algonquin Nation communities of Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg First Nation and Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation was hosted. Throughout the day, engaging discussions took place and feedback was collected on Ottawa Public Library and Library and Archive Canada’s future service offerings.
The session also included a presentation on Ādisōke, with an overview of construction progress, the integration of Indigenous art installations, and the design of wayfinding signage.
