It’s back! By popular demand, we’re launching another Anishinābemowin language series. Want to learn to say a few words in Anishinābemowin Algonquin language? Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing new pronunciation videos  from Anishinābe Algonquin Language Keeper Joan Tenasco to help you practice.

It’s day one of our Anishinābemowin language series! Our first word is nàbowàdjigewin (reading). Reading and access to books was the original intent of libraries. Today, libraries offer so much more, but it’s the love of reading and books that brings people to them.

Time for another Anishinābemowin lesson! Today’s word is Ànike kete tibàdjimowin (archives). Ādisōke, the Ottawa Public Library-Library and Archives Canada joint facility, will be a landmark destination built on the shared values of the partner institutions.
